Poema de Boca Chica

March 3, 2008

Boca Chica 2006

Hay nada

The man holding his net

nodded to his Doppelganger

across el rio.

Seashells and sand-dollars

tinkle on the shore

like pesos in the pockets

of both these men.

The little mouthed,

muddy waters meeting Gulf Stream

where pelicans post like Lady Liberty

on sand dunes

welcoming poor destitute waves,

yearning to break free.

The fish swim

irregardless of invisible lines

heeding only land’s end

and ocean’s beginning

and beginning…

Hay nada

and they both toss nets

once more,

pursuing things

they cannot see.
